Review: Exhibition “Stars and Celebrities” – The journalistic life’s work of Peter and Björn Bischoff
With the exhibition "Stars and Celebrities", the Schluh Gallery dedicated an impressive homage to two extraordinary journalists, Peter and Björn Bischoff. The exhibition documented the unique life's work of the father-son duo , who for decades portrayed prominent personalities from all over the world and in the process created a fascinating contemporary document.
Peter Bischoff, a pioneer of journalism in the field of celebrity photography, began his career in the 1960s and set standards in the way stars and public figures were staged. His son Björn continued this legacy with a modern style and created images that captured not only the external appearance but also the personality of the subjects.
The exhibition showed an impressive collection of photographs and journalistic contributions that captured celebrities from art, music, film and politics in intimate and often unexpected moments. These included iconic images of world stars, but also surprising insights behind the scenes of the spotlight. The works were complemented by personal notes, interviews and background stories that impressively illustrated the creation of the images and the Bischoffs' passion for their profession.
The exhibition was not only a celebration of Peter and Björn Bischoff's photographic skills, but also a testament to their ability to tell stories through images. It immersed visitors in the world of glamour and celebrity while discovering the humanity behind the famous faces.
A big thank you goes to Peter and Björn Bischoff for their extraordinary work, which was honored in a unique way in the Schluh Gallery, and to the numerous visitors who made this exhibition an unforgettable experience.
