Galerie SCHLUH opens in July 2023
by Markus Lippeck
·
As part of the open studios in Worpswede, from July 7th, 2023, we will open the SCHLUH gallery.
In the well-known village street "IM SCHLUH" we show art on approx. 130 sqm in the separate extension of the house.
On the upper floor there are two studios belonging to Anna Schill and Markus Lippeck. On the ground floor and in the basement there is plenty of space for paintings and sculptures.
If required, events and vernissages will be held, the entire property will be included, both the midcentury main house and the central property.
In the main building there is a foyer where events and house music are regularly held.
(pre-opening with home music by children as a presentation from their music lessons )
The gallery will pursue three parallel concepts:
- "Garage"
"The Young Wild Ones". In cooperation with universities, students, initiatives and art associations. External, temporary events also outside the premises in Schluh.
- "Gallery"
Our regular artists with constantly changing solo exhibitions in the gallery.
- "Fine Art"
International Art / Art Trade and Mediation
Especially in our "Gallery" concept, we don't just want to open a new gallery, but create "social & cultural events" with ambience and identity.
This also includes the active participation of artists, collectors and curators.
The gallery will always be open, even when we are setting up or preparing events or exhibitions. The motto is "participate and experience!"
We especially want to offer collectors a kind of "carte blanche" to present collections according to their ideas and give them an open stage.
On the property we combine the whole thing with a "kind of residence".
For visitors, guests and interested parties as well as artists and curators there is the possibility to stay and work directly in the studio or in the adjoining holiday apartment;

Furthermore, there will be a permanent cooperation with the gallery "Kannart" , which focuses on art from Russia and Eastern Europe.
A permanent exhibition of a wide variety of exhibits is planned, as well as changing solo exhibitions at both the SCHLUH Gallery and the KannArt Gallery.
A special focus will also be on sculptures and objects and in this context a sculpture garden is planned on the property behind the gallery.
Opening hours SA/SU 1pm - 6pm
as well as by appointment and on special days.
