Markus Lippeck - Got the Blues
Paper art with pigments and collagen-like inclusions of plants, fibers, felt and fabrics
80x60x1.0cm
1989
This artwork is paper art.
It is a handmade paper into which leaves, pulp, felt and plant fibers were incorporated during the production process.
The coloring consists of pure pigments bound into the paper.
It is dominated by blue and white hues. The work depicts an irregular, almost cloud-like formation silhouetted against a deep blue background. The use of rich cobalt and cerulean hues, blended with white streaks, evokes a sense of fluidity and movement, reminiscent of a turbulent sea or a fragment of the sky. Textured elements appear throughout, suggesting depth and layered complexity. The presence of subtle gold and black accents provides contrast and intrigue, drawing the eye to various focal points within the composition. This interplay of colors and textures engages the viewer, inviting exploration and interpretation. The artist's signature and a stamp-like emblem are discreetly placed in the corner, adding a personal touch to the abstract work. The dynamic and ethereal quality of this artwork makes it a striking and thought-provoking work.
